Our Services
Skilled Care
Sheridan Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center provides trained and qualified nurses to provide assessments and treatment for a variety of acute and chronic needs. Our special care units include behavioral health, geriatric rehabilitation, and 24-hour skilled nursing. This team of dedicated professionals is dedicated to assisting residents to reach their highest functional potential.
Long-term Care
We fully support residents and their families as they transition from the comforts of their homes to our lakefront facility. Residents will be involved in therapy as prescribed by their physician and involved in structured daily activities to stimulate their social and emotional well-being. Residents will be supported by our staff to meet all of their personal care needs.
Behavioral Care
Sheridan Village offers unique programming for individuals with behavioral needs. Our Master’s and Bachelor’s level Social Services are available to residents 7 days a week. Daily group and individual therapy are provided and managed by Doctoral Candidates under the daily supervision of our in-house Doctorate of Clinical Psychology. Our Doctoral Candidates provide our residents with psychological testing as well.
Diabetes Management
Our experienced nurses provide help with all aspects of managing diabetes including blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration and tracking, exercise planning, menu planning, education, and more.
Fall Prevention
Our specialized team will work with residents to maintain optimum levels of self-care and independence within the facility. The most common areas of restorative development include active and passive range of motion, dressing/grooming, bowel and bladder training, bed mobility, and communication training. We also provide residents with ‘open gym’ which allows all residents an opportunity to be active.
Dietary Program
Our dietary program is designed to meet the dietary and physician-ordered needs of each resident in our care. To ensure that each resident is receiving the proper nutritional needs we offer meals to meet specific dietary and therapeutic needs, according to physician orders, oral supplemental, as prescribed by each physician, and regular nutritional assessments from our registered dietitian.
Rehabilitation

Our comprehensive rehabilitation program focuses on the mental and physical aspects of each resident. Our team works on improving physical strength, performing activities of daily living, and managing any mental health needs. Sheridan Village offers the unique advantage of having a team that continually monitors the medical and psychological progress of each resident.
Residents are empowered through goal-oriented physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapy offered 7 days a week as our team strives to increase the independence and ability of each resident. We are committed to each resident’s well-being.

Case Management
Sheridan Village Nursing and Rehabilitation is proud to partner with ADAPT of Illinois which is a program designed to provide intensive case management services to residents within the program. ADAPT of Illinois is within our facility and provides specialized programs to our residents.
These specialized programs include skill building, medication training and management, illness management and recovery, crisis intervention, role recovery, and identifying and developing social and leisure skills. These skill-building programs work to enhance the residents’ skills and encourage successful living.
Custom Treatment
Wound Care
Sheridan Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has a daily, physician-led wound care team providing residents with weekly rounds from a North Shore Wound Center. Wounds require special medical attention and our team of doctors are here to provide the proper assessments and treatment plans to promote healing.
We care for wounds gently by developing a custom treatment plan fit for each individual in their unique stage. Offering bedside debridement and wound care treatments, our specialized team monitors each wound site for signs of infection for proper healing and recovery.
